Association Jujitsu: Black Belt Tips for Managing Boundaries and Expectations
Associations professionals operate in environments with multiple stakeholders who influence decisions and goals. Staff often need to balance expectations, volunteers, governance, sponsorships and internal work issues. However, questionable behaviors and unclear expectations can increase conflict and frustration resulting in decreased morale and productivity. This engaging program teaches participants how to analyze and manage boundaries, communications, conflict, and questionable behavior in complex organizations.
Program attendees will learn how to:
1. Identify boundary issues in association culture
2. Navigate emotions, egos and barriers to productivity
3. Utilize fundamental jujitsu principles to manage conflict
4. Understand communication styles for improved workflow
5. Develop a “Black Belt Mindset” for questionable behavior
