2013 Community Service Award Winner Honored

On Thursday, December 12, 2013, TSAE honored Mary Reynolds, semi-retired TSAE member from Around Austin, with its “Making a Difference” Community Service award at the 2013 Celebration Luncheon held at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center.

Introduced in 2012, the award honors members who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. This person serves as a role model for compassion and service and strives to make the world a better place.

Mary has been a member of Rotary Club for 18 years, and as a Rotarian she has undertaken many volunteer jobs including serving on their Board. In addition, she has been involved with BookSpring literacy program of Austin for the past 15 years.

She is also a tutor of first grade students at Pecan Springs as a Partner in Education volunteer, and for 6 years has chaired Operation Vacation – a partnership with the Hotel & Lodging Association where she arranges and coordinates a fully complimentary  R&R weekend for a non-commissioned military family from Ft. Hood.

TSAE’s Celebration Luncheon, previously known as the Holiday Luncheon, takes place each December. In addition to the award recognition, the event featured a motivational speaker, charity toy drive, preview of our Economic Impact Study, and an opportunity for members to network.
