Meet the 2013-14 Class of Leadership TSAE

Leadership TSAE is a nine-month program designed to help participants develop well-rounded skills and a broader knowledge base to enhance their professional abilities and make them a more valuable leader at your association.  

We are excited to introduce you to our 2013-14 class!

Aimee Arrington

Director of Community Engagement & Media, Houston Apartment Association

Aimee is the Director of Community Engagement and Media for the Houston Apartment Association. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and is actively involved with her church and a number of community service organizations. Aimee is the proud mother of two red heads, ages 1 and 4.

Jennifer Ahrens Cawley, JD

Executive Director, Texas Association of Life & Health Insurers

Jennifer is the Executive Director of the Texas Association of Life and Health Insurer (TALHI). She has been with TALHI since 2008. Previously, she was the Senior Associate Commissioner for the Life, Health & Licensing Program at the Texas Department of Insurance. Jennifer is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics; she received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.

Kimber Cockrill

Communications/Advocacy, Cornerstone Credit Union League

Kimber has broad experience in communications, marketing, and management. She currently serves as a communications specialist for the Cornerstone Credit Union League, Advocacy office, where she's been on staff since January of 2011.

Claire Duncan

Director, TMA Knowledge Center, Texas Medical Association

Claire has lived in Austin for over 35 years and is a University of Texas at Austin graduate. She has worked at Texas Medical Association for over 19 years. Away from work, her interests include running, cooking, reading, spending time with family, and traveling. 

Jody Elrod

Training Director, Associated Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors of Texas

Jody has been the Director of Training & Curriculum Development for the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling-Contractors Association of Texas since 2010 and is responsible for their continuing education programs throughout the state. Jody received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Communication Studies at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.

Taylor Jackson, CMP

Director of Education & Membership, Austin Apartment Association

Taylor organizes and implements membership growth initiatives, membership outreach programs, and educational opportunities within the community about the multifamily housing industry. Prior to holding the Director of Business Development position within the association, she also served as the Director of Membership & Education and the Director of Education within the past six years. Preceding her association work, she was in the hotel industry, focusing on group sales and contract negotiations since 2001.

Richard May

Public Affairs Director, APRO/Association of Progressive Rental Organizations

Richard has worked for trade associations for 23 years. He has spent those years learning the ins and outs of the U.S. Congress, media relations and public relations for APRO – the national trade association for the rent-to-own industry.

Keith McLemore

Director of Strategic Initiatives, Texas Nursery & Landscape Association

Keith received a Bachelor’s of Arts from Southwestern University and his Master’s of Arts from Texas Tech University. Keith was on staff with the Association of Texas Professional Educators from 2000-2012. He now serves as Director of Strategic Initiatives with Texas Nursery and Landscape Association. His hobbies include golf, Dr Pepper, Spanish, hiking, canoeing and camping.

Ginger Meyners

Director of Outreach, Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education

Ginger currently serves as the Director of Outreach for the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education (TCASE). Prior to joining TCASE, she served as the Director of Marketing for the National Association of Child Care Professionals and the Marketing Director at Affiniscape. 

Angela Mootz

Member Services Director, Texas Society of Association Executives

As Director of Member Services, Angela’s role at the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) is to grow revenue from membership as well as sponsorship. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and currently serves as the Director of Communications for the Greater Austin Chapter.

Ryan Poulos

Communications and Information Specialist, Texas Land Title Association

Ryan is a Communications & Information Specialist with the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA) where he is responsible for membership, marketing and communications. In addition to marketing TLTA’s education programs and covering government affairs activities, he is responsible for all newsletters. He also oversees website development, manages the advertising program and assists with the coordination of media relations.

Debbie Ritenour

Director of Publications, Texas Hospital Association

Debbie Ritenour is a marketing and communications professional with almost 15 years of experience. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri and her Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

Nita R. Scott

Membership Services Administrator, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International

Nita Scott joined Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Headquarters in August of 2011. With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management and a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership, She uses data as a tool to enable Society leadership in marketing the Society and building membership. She will assume the liaison position for the International Expansion Committee in July. Nitaand husband, James, live in the countryside outside of Austin with three horses, three dogs and a cat.

Linsae Snider

Executive Director, Texas School Public Relations Association

Linsae currently serves as Executive Director of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) in Austin, Texas. She is a retired school administrator, having served Texas public education for 31 years. She holds both bachelors and masters degrees from Texas Tech University as well as a mid-management certification. Her hobbies include attending Texas Tech athletic events, jogging/walking, traveling, cooking, interior decorating, and supporting Texas public education.

Lindsey G. Stringer

Association Manager, Texas Masonry Council

Lindsey G. Stringer joined the Texas Masonry Council (TMC) as the Association Manager in March of 2012. Prior to coming to TMC Lindsey was the executive marketing manager at Brazos Masonry, Inc. where she created and sustained effective marketing programs, managed budgets, implemented databases, and forecasted market situations. She is active in both national and regional masonry contractors associations and has earned numerous certifications. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Texas State University.

Sarah N. Wahlert

Member Services Coordinator for Meetings, American Board of Trial Advocates

Sarah joined the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) National Office as Meetings and Events Coordinator in 2007. Prior to her role at ABOTA, Sarah worked for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where she served as an Associate Director of Meetings and Special Events and Conference Services Manager. She has received number of awards from the Ritz-Carlton during her tenure, including the “Golden Circle Award,” the highest recognition one can receive for individual performance in meetings and special events. Sarah is a graduate of California State University in San Marcos, California.
