FREE Training for Association CEOs! CEO Strategies with Steve Murdock – Wednesday, August 26 (Austin): Thanks to Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau’s sponsorship of this great program, we are excited to announce next week’s CEO strategies will be free to association executive member CEOs and top-level staff.

The session will cover the implications of our changing demographics and how it will impact your association – your members, your mission, and your staff. Join former state demographer Steve Murdock for this half-day seminar and be prepared for the economic and employment impacts of our changing population - information every association CEO needs to know!

Wednesday, August 26, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Four Seasons Hotel Austin
4 CAE Credit Hours

New Ideas Annual Conference – Registration Fees Increase in Two Weeks: We are busy gearing up for this year’s New Ideas Annual Conference (September 13-15). I am excited about the experts, education, and experiences we have lined up for San Antonio! If you have not made your plans yet, you need to check out the schedule and register today (registration rates go up after September 1).

Can’t make it down for the whole event? Consider registering for Monday only – it’s still a great value.

Don’t miss the best experience for association professionals in Texas – we’ll see you there!

Fall Certified Association Executive (CAE) Study Group:  Registration is now open for the Fall CAE study group. Cost is only $150 for TSAE members and you will receive the newly updated study guide, nine (9) weeks of facilitated training by our CAE faculty, handouts, and a sample exam. New this year – we are offering “outside of Austin” candidates to join the study group via audio conference.

You can learn more about CAE qualifications here.  Remember, you must have 75 hours of association management continuing education to qualify and that will increase to 100 hours starting with the spring 2010 exam.

TSAE has been offering a CAE study course for over 26 years and our pass rate is very high – sign up today (PDF)!

Leadership Academy Starts this Month: Our first year of the Leadership Academy will begin later this month. We are very excited to provide a year-long journey for emerging leaders in the association industry. Look for updates on the Academy to come over the next year in the magazine, at events, in this newsletter, and more!

Marriott and Renaissance Hotels of Texas is the exclusive sponsor of the 2009-2010 TSAE Leadership Academy

2010 Southwest Showcase: Our 10th year of Southwest Showcase will take place at the Austin Convention Center on February 4, 2010.  Plan to be at the premier Education, Meetings, and Exhibition event of the year!

Upcoming Education:
Idea Swap: Meeting Success in a Slow Economy – Free Learn@Lunch (Wednesday, August 26, Austin): A can’t miss event, this interactive Learn@Lunch will allow association professionals to share experiences on what steps they are taking to attract attendees to meetings, especially in tougher times. Listen to other experienced planners and learn real world lessons that will give you tried and true solutions to make your next meeting a success. More information and Registration.
