Update on 2015 Strategic Initiatives

In July 2014, the TSAE board outlined three large initiatives. As we prepare for our June 2015 Board meeting, we wanted to give you an update on where we stand with our current strategic plans.
Strategic Initiative I:
DEVELOP LEADERS AT ALL LEVELS, FUNCTIONS AND JOB TITLES ACROSS TEXAS
Lead: Christopher Williston, CAE
Current Work Completed
- Assessment of hard and soft skills essential for leadership roles.
Ongoing Work (2015 - 2016)

Develop career pathways for aspiring CAE and specialists.
- Create chart based on level of experience and skill competencies. -
Coordinate pathway with educational offerings.
- Review for programing gaps (ties in with Strategic Initiative III).
Next Steps (2016 - 2018)
- Development of certificate program in three areas: Association Management, Finance, and Membership
Strategic Initiative II:
Increase and Diversify Revenue
Lead: JJ Colburn, CAE
Current Work Completed
- Create Executive Director search and Interim ED placement services.

Create consulting programs for Board Orientation and Strategic Planning.
- Completed Board Orientation, and Strategic Planning levels and outline.
Next Steps (2015 - 2016)
- Recruitment of pool of interim EDs and training facilitators.
- Create orientation for volunteers/consultants.
- Develop marketing strategy for ED search and consulting services.
- Develop evaluation tools.
- Review of final process, curriculum, etc.
- Begin marketing and recruiting.
Strategic Initiative III:
Deliver High Quality, Targeted & Engaging Education
Lead: Pam Donahoo, CAE
Current Work Completed

Create new program for meeting and education industry.
- Connect Texas will be held November 2015. -
Focus on Management training
- Programs were offered at 2015 Learn@Lunch programs. -
Created “So You Want to be a CEO” educational program.
- Presentation made at DFWAE “A” Day as well as on agenda for 2015 Annual Conference.
Next Steps (2015 - 2016)
- Review educational gaps (ties in with Strategic Initiative I).
